Hi, I'm Jamie — The Yorkshire Sewing Guy. I picked up sewing in 2025 as a way to unwind and step away from the endless scroll of social media. It had been over 30 years since I last sat at a sewing machine (back in school!), but I quickly rediscovered my love for the craft.

One of the first things I noticed when getting back into sewing was just how costly it can be. Beyond the machine itself, there's a seemingly never-ending list of supplies — fabrics, interfacing, threads, rulers, rotary cutters, and more. The costs add up fast, and I knew there had to be a better way.

How The Yorkshire Sewing Guy Store Was Born

To keep my own costs down, I started buying full fabric bolts and selling the excess on Vinted — passing the savings on to fellow sewists at well below retail price. The response was brilliant. I quickly realised I could source and sell quality sewing supplies at prices that make this hobby genuinely accessible to everyone.

That idea grew into this store, which officially launched at the end of March 2026. My wife Amy has been with me every step of the way, and together we've built up a substantial stock of fabrics, materials, and haberdashery supplies — carefully chosen to give you the best possible range from day one.
